BSD delivers advanced machining and bespoke production solutions for global industries, combining cutting-edge technology with unmatched British craftsmanship.

One Door Closes

And another opens. BSD Engineering was founded following the 1997 closure of the Peterborough division of Molins, where Mark Brewin was employed. The closure led to the auctioning of much of the factory’s heavy engineering machinery. Several units were purchased by Mark Brewin (now redundant) to kickstart his dream of running a fully equipped motorcycle workshop, capable of servicing and rebuilding engines and chassis.

Racing Heritage

The company started life in old farm buildings owned by Mark’s father. With the help of former work colleagues and friends, the buildings were quickly converted into modern, fully equipped workshops, housing both the motorcycle and engineering departments. In the early days, motorcycle servicing and race preparation became the dominant part of the business, driven by the success of BSD-prepared motorcycles competing at the highest level in UK racing series, including the Isle of Man TT and the British Superbike Championship.

What we do

Success in the motorcycle racing world opened doors to businesses seeking an independent engineering company capable of delivering quality work within short timescales. Over the following decades, that hasn’t changed. While BSD Engineering has grown, adapted and diversified, it has remained a trusted partner, recognising and focusing on the individual requirements of every customer. And throughout it all, Mark has remained at the heart of the business, driven by the same vision and passion that inspired him from the very beginning.

Our Values

While the machines are impressive, the workforce Mark has built is even more so. Starting with just two people, BSD Engineering now employs 12 full-time, time-served engineers, some of whom joined the business as apprentices following work experience organised by Arthur Mellows Village College. This matters to Mark because it’s how he began his own engineering career many years ago, and he has always believed in investing in the people of his local community. Today, he leads a team that represents the very best of British engineering, past, present and future.
